Etsy takes 6.5 percent of the total amount the buyer pays, including shipping and gift wrapping. On a $10 digital download with no shipping, that is $0.65.

2Payment processing: 4 percent plus $0.30 per order
When a buyer pays by card, the payment processor takes 4 percent of the order total plus a fixed $0.30 per transaction. On a $10 sale that is $0.70.
This fixed $0.30 is why very cheap items hurt. On a $3 sale the fixed part alone eats 10 percent, while on a $20 sale it is only 1.5 percent. Price above $5 whenever you can.
3Listing fee: $0.20 per listing
Publishing a listing costs $0.20. The listing stays live for 4 months or until it sells out, then it renews for another $0.20.
For digital products this fee is tiny per sale once a listing gains traction, but it adds up across dozens of listings, so factor it into your monthly math.

- Build bundles at $20 or more. One $24 bundle sale pays far better than three $8 sales because you pay the $0.30 fixed fee once instead of three times.
